A captivating and colorful adventure that reads like a modern day fairy tale, from the bestselling author of the Shatter Me series.

Inspired by her childhood love of books like The Secret Garden and The Chronicles of Narnia, bestselling author Tahereh Mafi crafts a spellbinding new world where color is currency, adventure is inevitable, and friendship is found in the most unexpected places.

There are only three things that matter to twelve-year-old Alice Alexis Queensmeadow: Mother, who wouldn’t miss her; magic and color, which seem to elude her; and Father, who always loved her. The day Father disappears from Ferenwood he takes nothing but a ruler with him. But it’s been almost three years since then, and Alice is determined to find him. She loves her father even more than she loves adventure, and she’s about to embark on one to find the other.

But bringing Father home is no small matter. In order to find him she‚Äôll have to travel through the mythical, dangerous land of Furthermore, where down can be up, paper is alive, and left can be both right and very, very wrong. It will take all of Alice’s wits (and every limb she’s got) to find Father and return home to Ferenwood in one piece. On her quest to find Father, Alice must first find herself‚ÄĒand hold fast to the magic of love in the face of loss.

MY THOUGHTSūüėĀ

This book was so stunning , and really whimsical. The writing blew me away in lots of ways. But its honestly one of those book, i’ll want to go back and reread about 1000 times. Tahereh is such an amazing writing some of the phrases from the book literally blew me away. This book is pitched as an Alice in Wonderland, and honestly it wasn’t ¬†my favorite retelling as Alice in Wonderland. I t was lots of fun but not my cup of tea. It seemed to drag and drag, and I honestly felt like I wouldn’t be able to finish it.

So this book naturally follows a girl named Alice she lives with her mother and her brothers. She lives in the land Ferenwood where everything is built upon color everything has yet Alice was born without color except for her eyes that are honey colored. So then we follow her throughout the book, seeing how she feels misplaced and different from everyone else. When she finally turn 12, all the other twelve year olds have to preform their Surrender. And after what happens in her Surrender her adventure starts.

Together Oliver And Alice go onto an Adventure, it was a really fun and imaginative adventure. And it takes you on whirlwind of fun.

Overall Furthermore is a magical whimsical and beautiful exploration of middle grade fiction.

ABOUT TAHEREH MAFI

She was born in a small city somewhere in Connecticut and currently resides in Santa Monica, California, where she drinks too much caffeine and finds the weather to be just a little too perfect for her taste.
When unable to find a book, she can be found reading candy wrappers, coupons, and old receipts.
